For this school project, we were tasked with rebranding a coffee shop. They wanted to avoid coffee cliches, and are passionate about building wells to prioritize water saftey in the countries where they source their coffee. Brazil produces around 40% of the world's coffee, making them the largest coffee exporter in the world. Piranha fish mostly live in the Amazon River basin, which runs through Brazil. They are also freshwater fish, tying back in to the company's goal of giving back and making sure people in the places they get their coffee from have access to clean water. While using a coffee pot as a fish bowl does fall back into coffee cliches, it adds a touch of whimsy and joy to the logo and ties the fish back to the coffee shop and their giving back initiatives.
I also needed to design packaging for three different coffee types. I used the colors from the fish in the logo and named the different blends after animals from the Amazon rainforest.
